About

Jemma is a Coastal Sedimentologist and Geomorphologist with over 12 years’ experience in coastal and land management across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Currently based in South East Queensland, Australia, Jemma is part way through her doctorate research investigating the influence sand bypassing has on the sediment dynamics of tidal entrances. Simultaneously, Jemma is also a Principal Coastal Scientist and Project Manager for the City of Gold Coast Council, working on long term coastal monitoring and modelling projects, as well as catchment management and restoration.
Much of Jemma’s experience has involved coastal and landscape restoration, including coastal adaptation through re-naturalisation of urbanised and developed coastlines – something Jemma is passionate about.
