About
Allison Penko received a B.S. in civil engineering in 2004 from The Ohio State University and a M.S. and Ph.D. in coastal and oceanographic engineering from the University of Florida in 2007 and 2010, respectively. She began working as a student at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center (NRLSSC) in 2009 until she was hired as a coastal engineer/research scientist after graduating. Her research interests include high-resolution numerical modelling of and performing laboratory experiments measuring coastal hydrodynamics and morphodynamics, specifically sediment and fluid interactions in the bottom boundary layer.
