About

I am a coastal scientist that has dedicated my career to the application of coastal science into policy and management of coastal natural resources and communities with an emphasis on hazard mitigation and climate adaptation. I have a Bachelor of Science in Environment Science, with minors in Earth Sciences and Geography. I also have a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning with a certificate in Environmental Hazards Management. I am current in a PhD program at Texas A&M University for Urban and Regional Sciences. My research focuses on the intersections of community development, state and local governance and policy, and climate adaptation and hazard mitigation. My primary interests are the use of ecosystem services as natural infrastructure for hazard mitigation, the impacts of structural measures on those ecosystem services, and how governments can address these through planning and policy.
