About
Matt has a strong coastal engineering and marine science background with almost 15 years of post-graduate experience. His PhD research was on the topic of beach sediment transport. This work received a Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence and contributed to multiple publications in peer reviewed international journals.
Matt’s role at BMT WBM primarily involves the assessment of coastal processes and development of related coastal management plans. This work has been part of dredging and port expansion environmental impact statements, shoreline erosion management plans, coastal hazard studies, climate change adaptation strategies, coastal works approval studies, and the design of coastal structures. These projects have required ongoing liaison with key stakeholders and ultimately support from state agencies and regulators.
