The WICGE Mentorship Program:

  • is exclusive to WICGE members (join WICGE before signing up for the mentorship program)
  • is led and run by volunteers
  • offers career development support and guidance for people working in coastal geoscience and engineering
  • is open to all career stages
  • is open to all sectors (industry, government, NGOs, academia, independent consultants)
  • welcomes you to join as a mentor, a mentee, or both
  • runs for about nine months (Sep-May)
  • offers a flexible format (your pair/group can decide how often to meet)

The deadline has passed for the current program, which runs from September 2025 through May 2026. Stay tuned to join the next program in September 2026!

Please note: The WICGE Mentorship Program is designed for professional-development mentoring. We encourage mentor/mentee pairings to discuss topics such as networking, time management, job/graduate school application process, writing strategies (proposal/paper/fellowship), and exploring career opportunities. Mentors and mentees may have a research overlap, and it can be appropriate to ask questions about research strategies, but this program is not designed for research/technical supervision.

Key Facts
