WICGE is committed to maintaining an equitable, positive, and respectful environment free of discrimination, harassment, or bullying. All members are obligated to support this goal. WICGE prohibits sexual harassment and all other forms of discriminatory harassment.
This code of conduct outlines the rules we require our community to adhere to and it applies equally to everyone in WICGE (members, leaders, advisors, followers, and any other individuals involved in our organization). The code of conduct also applies to all spaces managed by us: website, email, email distribution lists, slack, discord, social media (X, Facebook, LinkedIn), etc.
Be considerate and respectful. The goal is not always to agree– but to gain a deeper understanding and to support one another.
Be mindful of your words and behave professionally. Assume everyone has good intentions, but acknowledge the impact of hurting someone else, even if it is unintended.
Maintain confidentiality. Details shared among the WICGE community should be considered confidential and should stay within the organization unless explicit permission is given by the person sharing to be shared externally.
WICGE leadership is responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of inclusive and respectful behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. WICGE has the right and responsibility to remove or delete comments, posts, and other contributions that are not aligned to this Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.Instances of abusive, harassing, or otherwise unacceptable behavior may be reported at womenincoastal@gmail.com. All complaints will be reviewed and investigated promptly and fairly, while prioritizing anonymity. Consequences of violating the Code of Conduct could range from a private warning to a permanent ban from WICGE.
