About
Jon has particular experience and interest in coastal flooding processes, impacts and mitigation (including adaptation), coastal processes (geomorphology, morphodynamics and modelling); sediment dynamics (bedload, resuspension, turbulence, modelling); fluvial processes (hydrodynamics, sediment dynamics and modelling); marine and fluvial bedforms (dynamics and prediction); boundary layers (turbulence, entrainment, fluxes and exchanges).
Jan has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in international journals and has extensive experience in co-ordination large international interdisciplinary projects included European projects in Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal.
Jon has extensive experience in numerical modelling (MIKE 21, DELFT3D, XBEACH, SPH CFD), including proficiency in MATLAB and FORTRAN.
