Permanent Job position – USGS

A brief summary:
 

This position is located in the Coastal and Marine Geology Program’s Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center in Santa Cruz, CA.  The Team participates in the national USGS Coastal and Marine Geology Program (CMGP), with particular emphasis on conducting research and providing scientific information on the coastal and marine geology of the U.S. Pacific Ocean margin, including Alaska and Hawaii.  The primary purpose of this position is to provide scientific expertise in understanding, measuring, modeling and predicting shelf and estuarine sediment transport processes, coastal change in arctic and active-margin settings, and coastal hazards associated with climate change. The research scientist will have expertise in numerical modeling, climate change impacts, and coastal engineering.
