About
I work as a PhD research student at the University of Liverpool and National Oceanography Centre Liverpool, and simulate tide-surge-wave interaction in hyper-tidal estuaries (where tidal range exceeds 8 m) using hydrodynamic, numerical models. The work aims to develop understanding of complex interactions between the hazards which combine to contribute to overtopping and inundation in the Severn Estuary, southwest England, which is used as a test case for hyper-tidal estuaries worldwide. Despite the numerical focus of my PhD, I still enjoy field work and have experience working on salt marshes, beaches and rocky shorelines.
