The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is the largest School in the Faculty of Engineering, with approximately 2500 student enrolments and a budget of over $20 million. The School has 48 full time academic staff, 27 professional staff and technical staff and 75 research only appointments. About the role:
  • Level B (Lecturer) $98K-$116K or Level C (Senior Lecturer) $119K-$137K or Level D (Associate Professor) $143K-$157K (plus 17% superannuation and leave loading)

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering is looking to recruit exceptional candidates to conduct high impact research, deliver outstanding teaching and student experience and build industry engagement in the field of Water Engineering.
 
 The appointee will join an existing and dynamic Water discipline group with strengths in surface and groundwater hydrology, coastal engineering and estuaries, water quality and treatment, and hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics. Based at the School’s internationally recognised Water Research Laboratory located at UNSWs Northern Beaches Campus, Manly Vale, the appointee(s) will be expected to collaborate across Centre research activities in their field of expertise. The role will collaborate with colleagues in the School, to undertake teaching at the undergraduate level in water engineering and related courses and at the postgraduate level in their area of expertise, and to provide supervision of undergraduate thesis, postgraduate coursework and higher degree research students
 
We are looking for an exceptional candidate with:
  • A PhD in water engineering or related area
  • An outstanding track record of high impact international research
  • Evidence of successful engagement with industry
  • A commitment to deliver high quality teaching and student experience

Appointments will be offered on the basis of a convertible tenure track employment contract for an initial fixed term period of five years, with conversion to a continuing appointment based on satisfactory performance.  UNSW reserves the right to offer an appointment on a continuing basis or to directly appoint to advertised positions.
