Dr Graziela Miot da Silva
Growing up on an island in southern Brazil ignited Dr Graziela Miot da Silva’s passion for the sea and the coast. She is a coastal geomorphologist and oceanographer, with experience and research interests on surfzone dynamics and sediment transport, beach morphodynamics and sedimentology, aeolian sediment transport, and climate change impacts on coastal environments. She joined Flinders University in South Australia in 2013 after 8 years and 2 academic positions in the USA. She is currently working with colleagues from Australia and the USA on an ARC-funded research project, looking at chronology and environmental reconstruction of dunefields in Fraser Island, Queensland. Graziela enjoys cooking, traveling and playing on the beach and in her backyard with her boys.
