Congratulations to our Inaugural WICGE Award Winner – Coasts and Ports 2017!!!

WICGE would like to congratulate our first winner for the WICGE Award for best paper lead by a female author at Coasts and Ports 2017, Ms Rosey Hart.  We hope this award will be the first of many that acknowledges the achievements of women in our field, but also encourages the next generation to step up, attend and present at conferences.  Rosey received a keepsake award and is eligible for a free annual membership to Engineers Australia, courtesy of the Queensland Chapter.

Rosey recently graduated with a Bachelors of Science (Honours) from the University of Newcastle. She presented work from her Honours thesis, investigating tidal dynamics in coastal lakes.  After graduating earlier this year with a degree in Earth Sciences/Marine Sciences, Rosey received a Landcare scholarship to undertake her Honours within the School of Environmental and Life Sciences. Rosey is employed with the Tom Farrell Institute  for the Environment and Umwelt Environmental Consultants. Rosey is also a proud new mom!

Her achievements are a testament to her resilient attitude and her continued striving to complete all work to a high standard. Congrats again Rosey for a well-deserved award!
